Choosing the right No-Code Platform for your Community

— Juliet Edjere

With the advent of the no-code revolution, there are a lot of no-code tools to launch your community. From the obvious LinkedIn, Facebook, Slack and Discord groups to more specific Disciple, HelloBox, Honeycommb, PeopleCirclePodiaTribe, Orbit, and Geneva.

We’ll go through each of these, focusing on their pricing and core offering. Your choice could vary depending on the use case.

Geneva

Geneva is an all-in-one communication app for groups, clubs, and communities. Chat, post, hangout, livestream, plan, and more — it’s everything your group needs to stay connected, all in one place. Geneva chat allows you to have a mix of asynchronous and live conversations. Geneva uses phone numbers for sign up to prevent trolling and spam accounts.

  • It's free
  • You can create topic-based channels, chat channels, video channels, and audio channels.
  • However, it's still very limited in how you customize it.

Circle

Circle is very simple to get started and also allows for lots of customisations to match the look and feel of your brand. With Circle, you can bring together your discussions, memberships, and content to allow for more asynchronous but thoughtful discussion.

Circle integrates with your other tools. The support team is also considerate and reactive.

The best-use cases for Circle include:

  • Course creators who want to add a community to their student experience
  • Memberships of all types, especially for newsletters and podcasts
  • Products and brands that let their customers connect with each other
  • Coaching communities and mastermind groups
  • Influencers and bloggers who want help their audience members connect with each other

Check out the demo / example communities on https://circle.so/pre-recorded-demo.

Circle pricing starts at $39/mo.

Although it has a free tier, you'll likely have to upgrade sooner than later. I built a community with Tribe HERE.

Podia

Podia is an all-in-one digital storefront. The easiest way to sell online courses, downloads, webinars, and memberships. Podia is more a platform for courses than community. You'd likely still need Circle/Tribe/Geneva Chat if you go with Podia.
